Private Dog Training Lessons

Dog Training

Black, white, and tan Aussie sits and smiles on wood floor.

First dog of your own and you’re hesitant to walk together after she pulled you off your feet while racing to your neighbor for a full body hello?

First energetic dog that interrupts your morning coffee and crossword puzzle routine with barks and paw scratches, leaving you on edge to start your day?

I value my walks and morning down time too. With in-home private dog training, enjoy walking your dog again with confidence. You’ll stay on two feet and Fluffy will keep four paws on the floor when saying hello to your friends. Enjoy completing your coffee and crossword without Fluffy interuptions.

Let's bring peace to your home with Dog Training!

“I just had my first enjoyable walk with Birdie on leash! She did so great! We just practiced the eye contact game. Every time she checked in with me, I rewarded her. If she was pulling, I would stop, she would think, and check in with me - redirecting her. It was amazing! It was a MAJOR difference. I'm so grateful. We wouldn't have gotten here without you”

Puppy Training

First puppy in your first place, and suddenly you’re losing sleep over chewed shoes, carpet stains, and losing your deposit?

First puppy since celebrating retirement and you’re questioning the decision, as blood thinners make piranha puppy’s nips look like war wounds?

I’ve been in your shoes and understand the puppy blues. With in-home private puppy training, you will be able to set down that stress, sleep soundly, and savor injury-free time with your new furry family member.

Let's bring calm to the chaos with Puppy Training!

“That puppy biting tip is worth the price of the whole package!”

Hi! I’m Rebecca, the Family Dog Trainer. I utilize positive reinforcement style training. This means, we teach your dog what to do and reward their efforts. Your dog will offer the behaviors you reward more often. You could yell until you’re blue in the face, and your dog will know you’re not happy, but your dog still won’t know what to do instead. What do you want your dog to do instead? Example: “I don’t want my dog to run out the front door”. Training solution: “Let’s teach your dog to go lay on his bed, or sit and stay by your side every time the door is opened.”

I am a certified professional dog trainer, a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, and professional member of dog*biz Thrive.

I am a proud dog parent of a Cardigan Welsh corgi named Hopper. She loves walks, chasing the ball, making me laugh, and dog sports such as Scentwork, Fast Cat, and Barn Hunt.
